Sinhwa Kang, Ph.D. candidate in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) in LL&C has been awarded a $1500 scholarship to attend the Doctoral Consortium and deliver her paper: Sin-Hwa Kang, S., Gratch, J., Wang, N., & Watt, J. Michael Mascarenhas, Asst. Prof. in STS, served as United Nations' FAO Expert Consultation on Improving Planning and Policy Development in Aquaculture, Rome, Italy.
Sal Restivo, Prof. in STS, was appointed a member of the Advisory Board, Institute for Advanced Study of Pavia, Italy, Graduate Program in Knowledge Design.
Ron Sun, Prof. in Cognitive Science, was re-elected to the Board of the Governors, the International Neural Networks Society (INNS), 2008-2010.

Sharon Anderson-Gold, Prof and Head in STS, has an edited volume, Kant's Anatomy of Evil: Interpretative Essays and Contemporary Applications accepted for publication by Cambridge University Press. This volume includes her essay "Kant on Radical Evil and Crimes against Humanity".
Curtis Bahn, Assoc. Prof. in Arts, performed in the MahaDeviBot Sessions by Karmetik Collective Featuring Ajay Kapur, Curtis Bahn and Arne Eigenfeld, University Cultural Center Theatre, Singapore during the NUS Singapore National Arts Festival 2008 on Feb. 24; he organized the 3rd annual CeC & CaC (pronounced "Sek & Sak") presented by The Academy of Electronic Arts in partnership with the India International Centre, and participated in two nights of live multi-media performance with Aparna Panshikar, Ansuman Biswas, Lawrence Casserly, Martin Gottfrit, Kenneth Newby and Aleksandra Dulek in New Delhi, India on Feb. 16-17; and performed Face Removal Services with Jesse Stiles during Troy Night Out at Revolution Hall on Jan. 25.Caren Canier, Prof. in Arts, had a one person show at the Mark Potter Gallery, The Taft School, Watertown, CT, January 25 - March 5 where she was also the Rockwell Visiting Artist.
Shawn Lawson, Asst. Prof. in Arts, premiered "Effervescence" a new 3D animation at a curated exhibition, "Path of Light" for the 2008 conference on Iridescence at Arizona State University.
Pauline Oliveros, Distinguished Prof. in Arts, published her score: Magnetic Trails for Violin and Piano, Deep Listening Publications; and "The Nature of Listening" - IDC - Institute for Distributed Conferencing on WWW and ‘The Collective Intelligence of Improvisation', Kosmos Journal.
Bill Puka, Prof. in Philosophy, contributed an article "A Dissent on Dissent: Educating For Bad Citizenship" to a volume on dissent being published on Ashley Press.
Sal Restivo, Prof. in STS, published "Society, Social Construction, and the Sociological Imagination," an invited commentary in Constructivist Foundations 3(2), 2008, 94-96.
