XMALIA, songs about extinction by C. RYDER COOLEY

Club Helsinki, Hudson NY

May 26, 2011 8:00 PM - 12:00 AM

With special Guests Lady Moon, Pete Toigo, Todd Chandler & others ... XMALIA, a multi-media performance by C. Ryder Cooley, features songs about extinct animals such as the Tasmanian Tiger, the Pyrenean Ibex, the Xerces Butterfly, plus a Dodo-trapeze act. This entertaining tragedy is hosted by a lonely mortician, who summons the animals back to life for her Graveyard Cabaret. Performed with taxidermy animals, aerial movement, mesmerizing video and bitter-sweet songs on ukulele and singing saw. http://xmalia.tumblr.com/, http://carolynrydercooley.org/.
