Abstract:  Ontologies are proliferating as more applications are finding value in encoding computationally operational descriptions of term meanings. In this talk, we will introduce a few ontology-enhanced applications and highlight a few benefits of an ontology-based approach. We will also introduce some directions in ontology work, in particular provenance / explanation, evolution / diagnostics; and collaborative environments.
