Rensselaer Orchestra Lunchtime Concert

Rensselaer Orchestra Lunchtime Concert

EMPAC Concert Hall

April 29, 2016 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM

Under the direction of Nicholas DeMaison, the Rensselaer Orchestra presents a pastoral lunchtime concert to celebrate Spring. The Orchestra will premiere a new work written for them by young composer Eli Greenhoe: Going By (2016) is a two-movement meditation on the natural phenomena of light and water, as conceived in orchestral color.

The Orchestra will follow this with Betthoven's iconic Symphony no. 6, "Pastoral" op.68. His most famous rendering of the natural world, Beethoven depicts a foray into the country, complete with brook-side daydreaming, country dancing, and a ferocious storm.
