E. L. Doctorow will present awards to the winners of the McKinney Contest and perform a reading beginning at 8 p.m. on April 19, 2006 in Darrin Communications Center (DCC 308).

E. L. Doctorow is one of the great masters of the historical novel. His honors include the National Book Award, two National Book Critics Circle Awards, the Pen/Faulkner Award, the Edith Wharton Citation for Fiction, the William Dean Howells Medal of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the presidentially conferred National Humanities Medal.
